I’m Jake Kimmel - a Montreal-born, Toronto-based artist and creative producer.

I write, record, and release indie music under my own name, and I help artists turn their ideas into fully formed records: writing, recording, production, mixing, and mastering.

My background is a mix of Berklee training and years of leading music around campfires - places where I learned two things that guide the energy of what I do:

1) Music is connection, and
2) A song doesn’t need to be complex to be moving

I’ve mixed projects for bands at every stage of the process - finishing writing sections, filling out arrangements, and mixing/mastering once everything hits the DAW. I’ve engineered sessions in bedrooms, dorm rooms, and basements, building workflows that help artists make the music they hear in their head, not what they think they’re “supposed” to sound like.

At the core, my job is simple; help the inner artist feel understood, and make their recordings feel like the music.

Whether I’m crafting my own songs or collaborating on someone else’s, I’m always trying to create something expressive, authentic, and built with care - the kind of music that I want to hear.
